Senior Contract Manager

The Manager of Contracts is responsible for

·         All aspects of MGS Public Sector contracting process.

·         Administration of prime and subcontracts to include negotiation, award, administration, and closeout.

·         Working directly with the MGS Management and Sales teams, as well as Parent Legal personnel.

·         Directing negotiations with contractors and the Government.

·         Implementing an efficient, effective and compliant contracts process.

·         Interfacing with various governmental agencies on related issues and provide guidance, advice and action on such matters to senior management.  

Essential Functions:

A qualified candidate will

-         Law degree or related experience (special designation in Government Contracting preferred)

-         at least 10 years directly related experience in government contract administration.

-         Candidate must have experience and a thorough knowledge of all aspects of contract formation, contract administration, subcontract administration, and closeout.

-         A demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, experience developing a bid strategy and experience setting business and contracting policy as it relates to these areas.

-         Hands on experience responding to all types of solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, BAAs and other requests for offers) and befamiliar with all forms of government contracts including cost plus fixed fee (CPFF), time and materials (T&M), indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (ID/IQ), multiple award contracts (MACs) and contracts awarded under the GSA schedules.

-         Candidate should have experience managing large contracting efforts with multiple subcontracts and team members. Must be able to interact effectively with senior management, be a working manager, and able to work in a team environment.

-         Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills are required with a thorough understanding of FAR and internal government contract processes.

-         Must be a proven leader with outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise a small staff. Expertise in analysis of terms and conditions of government contract documents is required. Must be proficient in Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.  

-         Comfortable working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
