Under general direction, plans, implements, manages and maintains the Information Systems Database Administrative functions and all related activities. Facilitates implementation of applications and products with management and users. Ensures effective utilization of system applications; proper integration with source systems; and the integrity and security of the database. Ability to design and implement SQL queries and stored procedures. Perform ongoing database performance tuning and upgrades, including: monitoring and evaluation of all database patches and service packs. Design and manage database import / export processes used to populate test and production databases. Build automated build scripts. Design and implementation of database replication strategies for both internal and Disaster Recovery (DR) requirements. Transact SQL and stored procedure. Ensures development of training materials, production of continuity workbooks, documentation of standard operating procedures and user checklists. Serves as the contact and liaison between the enterprise and vendor. Demonstrates ability to interview, schedule, assign work to and evaluate the work performance of employees supervised. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Qualifications: BS or MS degree in computer science or related field with 7 or more years of relevant industry experience. Four or more years of database administration/design experience with RDBMS. 3-5 years experience with MS SQL Server 7.0, MS SQL Server 2000, MS SQL Server 2005.Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. Demonstrated experience in tuning database and its objects. Understanding of databases indexes. Proven ability to work within a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
