We are a currently working towards staffing a Senior Oracle Database Administration.  This is an extremely fast paced environment that requires both loyalty and technical savvy.  The day-to-day responsibilities will include both production support and engineering for special projects. 

Role:  Senior Oracle Database Administrator 

As a Senior Oracle database subject matter (SME) expert, you will be a contributing member of a small team of gifted professionals to provide 24x7 database operations expertise. You will be responsible for day to day management of and including and monitoring, database best practices, system diagnostics performance tuning db integrity, indexing, segmentation and database recovery.  Performance tuning will be required at the Oracle server level as well as the SQL statement tuning level

• Minimum of 4-7+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with a strong hands-on understanding of:

o       Performing Hot Backup’s (redo logos, archive logs

o       Indexing (knowledge of how different indexes work, when to use certain indexes, etc

o       Partitioning (use of hash partition vs. index partition)

o       Performance Tuning (query and Oracle system tuning)

o       Dataguard (how to setup and configure properly, understanding of different modules)

o       RMAN (setting-up and maintaining catalogs)

o       Oracle Tools:  (OEM, Performance Analyzer, TOAD)

• Experience in these areas would be of advantage to all:

o       Vertias

o       SAN configuration

o       Oracle RAC

o       Unix scripting

o       Capacity planning

o       Stability planning

o       Data Modeling

o        Experience in logical and physical database design
