Senior Database Analyst

We are looking for a senior database analyst with experience in SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 who will be joining our database team for Digital Commerce application. As a senior database analyst you will be involved at the highest technical level in the design, testing, implementation, maintenance and control of the organization’s physical relational, and object oriented databases across multiple computing environments.


 


This person will be leading the development of data architectures and database management policies and standards. As an expert, you should provide solutions identifying and solving highly complex database issues. The senior database analyst will be also considered as an internal expert on database management issues. He/she will be ultimately leading the planning, design and usage of data resources and provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.


 


You must have an authentic passion for database development, and act proactively at all times to guarantee correctness of data at its highest level. You will be continuously working with application development, quality assurance, and operations groups to guarantee successful releases of the Digital Commerce platform and multiple other applications.


 


Key Responsibilities


·         Develop detailed data models and entity relationships diagrams


·         Build, update and maintain all relational objects including tables, referential integrity, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and views with performance and scalability in mind


·         Working knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services


·         Responsible for administration of development environments


·         Perform all common database administration among others, database backups, recovery, space utilization estimations, security management, replicationand  database maintenance


·         Provide support to software development team


·         Provide support to operational group in production environments to troubleshoot database performance issues


·         Responsible for databases deployment across different environments. This involves generating scripts to update existing schemas, scripts to maintain the right data in all environments at any time, define and implement strategies to rollback changes in case is needed.


·         Document, define, maintain and enforce policies and standards for database development


·         Work with different groups across the company to maintain a common vision in the way database design, database development and ETL processing must be done.


 


Requirements


·         8+ years of working experience with database design, maintenance


·         5+ years of working experience with SQL Server designing and maintaining OLTP databases


·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science


·         Experience with setup, administration, tunning and maintenance of SQL Server 2005 Server databases


·         Moderate to extensive experience in database performance tunning


·         Experience in installation, configuration and administration of SQL Server 2005


·         Strong scripting skills in writing SQL involving tuning complex queries for better performance


·         Experienced in setting up high volume OLTP databases with high availability solutions


·         Strong communication and documentation skills


·         Team player, very eager to learn and work in fast-paced, hands on environment


·         Experience with SQL Server data replication is a plus
