Senior Director, Client Team Leader

To achieve client objectives by developing, coordinating and implementing marketing, media development, and advertising programs for assigned clients.  Work with Director level team to execute strategic initiatives to achieve client and team goals.


 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


 



  • Ensure that clients’ objectives are met by overseeing development of strategic marketing plans with Senior Account Directors and/or Account Directors with assistance from internal resources.  Such plans will include marketing strategies and tactics, expense and revenue budgets, response projections, and performance objectives and standards.
  • Ensure that the clients’ money is properly invested in recommended marketing programs by handling, overseeing and performing marketing program analysis with Senior Account Directors and/or Account Directors. Achieve team client objectives at the right cost.


  • Works with the Senior Account Directors and/or Account Directors, and internal teams, to assure that all team client work is delivered to specification, on time and within budget.

·         Provides input related to hiring, developing, managing, reviewing, and terminating staff, when needed.


·         Motivates and mentors account staff; keeps morale high and performance at a level of excellence.



  • Reports marketing and agency performance to the client by maintaining close working relationships through regular telephone contact, periodic in-person visits, written reports, and through the supervision of Senior Account Directors and Account Directors.   
  • Focuses on team and individual process improvement opportunities by identifying needs.  Works with team to determine training and tools necessary.
  • Contributes expertise, as appropriate and needed.
  • Regularly communicates the goals, vision, expectations and results of its clients to the team members.
  • Serves as Account Supervisor to assigned clients and as Account Director to specific client(s), as required.  Establishes a solid working relationship with all appropriate client staff.
  • Performs other duties, as required.
  • Meets or exceeds client requirements related to gross revenue, net revenue, and cost, ROI, actual vs. previous year results, and actual vs. pro forma results.
  • Meets or exceeds gross revenue, gross income, cost and net profit expectations for Domain.
  • Performs other duties, as requested and required by management.

 



  • Ability to develop a successful relationship with the client to facilitate superior agency work, and lead the agency team in developing superior work for the client.
  • Ability to manage client relationships, especially sensitive issues, and effectively handle problems and criticism for the benefit of the agency and the client.
  • Demonstrated expertise in direct response marketing and nonprofit fundraising to achieve stated objectives.
  • Ability to influence the client in the most positive manner to facilitate all client work.
  • Leadership and management skills to facilitate work in a multi-functional team environment under a variety of circumstances – normal and/or difficult.
  • Ability to read and interpret response data to generate new opportunities for the client and for the agency.


  • Ability to achieve clients’ objectives through the development of strategic marketing plans.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • An intuitive ability to manage client expectations and implement those expectations with extensive direct marketing expertise.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks at any one time.


·         Ability to communicate effectively, especially when facing deadline pressures.


·         Ability to learn and implement new information and new skills quickly.


·         Must be extremely detail-oriented.


 


QUALIFICATIONS:


 


·         Bachelor’s degree.  No major specified.  Graduate degree such as MBA/Marketing/Business highly desirable.


·         10+ years experience in direct response with direct responsibility for developing and managing multimedia, direct response programs in an agency setting.


·         Demonstated record of building extremely strong client relationships.


·         Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgment related to client issues.



  • Ability to analyze problems and produce a viable solution.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint/MS Project required.
