The long-term targets for the Access business will include opportunities the Senior Director, with their team and the Global Infusion Systems General Manager, will articulate in the long range plan (LRP). The scope of product responsibility ranges from existing product, line extensions and the development of new products.
The Senior Director will manage and lead marketing team activities to ensure that customer, strategic marketing and overall business needs are met. Lastly, the Senior Director will partner with leaders in other functions (e.g. quality, manufacturing, regulatory, supply chain, etc.) to provide overall leadership for the business; this is the role of Segment Leader for the Access SLT. This includes creating an environment of operational excellence to drive the implementation of the strategic business plan.
Responsibilities
- Lead all commercial aspects of the Access business, including the product roadmap.
- Develop strategic marketing direction for product lines and ensure effective implementation of marketing strategies. Oversee development of Access and product-level marketing plans.
- Act as a liaison with global businesses and country leaders to ensure alignment between global strategic directions and local / regional needs and tactics; develop new markets.
- Align strategic Access initiatives with the regional sales organizations.
- Partner with the Access Research and Development team and cross-functional team members to ensure the timely and effective completion of new product development projects following Baxter?s Product Development Process and in compliance with FDA regulations.
- Act as a key interface with global business development groups within Baxter to identify portfolio gaps and develop strategy to fill the gaps; provide marketing input throughout the evaluation of global business opportunities.
- Lead product launches for Access with appropriate positioning, pricing, messaging and branding.
- Work closely with thought leaders and key customers in identifying unmet marketplace needs; build strong and lasting relationships with key opinion leaders.
- Manage and develop Access marketing team increasing productivity & motivating employees.
- Manage the Access marketing budget.
- Bachelors Degree Required, Masters degree preferred
- Minimum of eight to twelve years experience in marketing and/or general business management; health-care industry experience is a benefit.
- Proven track record in successfully launching new products and managing project teams. Product launches should demonstrate significant new sales and/or sales growth.
- Solid track record in leading projects to successful completion and leading experienced teams (internal and external cross-functional resources).
- Solid strategic planning abilities and business acumen. Ability to translate those strategic initiatives into executable plans in a global matrix environment.
- Proven demonstration of a high level of judgment in managing the business, and ability to utilize autonomy in decision making.
- Strong ability to understand market trends, financial data, customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data.
- Ensure marketing programs and strategies are benchmarked against best-demonstrated practices within health care/pharmaceutical markets
- Ability to develop and execute communication plans, messaging and branding campaigns.
- Strong skills in the areas of pricing, reimbursement, and creative product / program development.
- Background in strategic planning and business development helpful.
