POSITION DESCRIPTION

Electrical Engineer responsible for FPGA and digital circuit design, technical sales and support.

PROFILE

The ideal candidate has the following profile:

- Highly motivated

- Detail oriented with good written and oral communications.

- Can work independently to perform FPGA design, VHDL test bench development, simulation, and testing.

- Experienced in the design of high speed digital printed circuit cards, including schematic entry and layout considerations.

- Can participate in architectural design of sophisticated electronics-based products

- Has the ability to work directly with customers both pre-sale and post-sale

- Can “hit the ground running”, contributing immediately to a highly focused project on a strict time schedule

- Available immediately for a 3-6 month contract, with the potential for extension to full time, long term employment.

- Already living in CT (no relocation provided).

- Willing to travel occasionally

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

- BS EE or equivalent

- 5 years minimum experience in related designs.  Must have worked on 3+ different designs. 

- For circuit design, the applicant must be experienced in all phases of design, including component selection, schematic entry and layout.  Familiarity with the issues of regulatory compliance and the RoHS directive are a plus.

- For FPGA design, we use VHDL and target Xilinx FPGAs.  VHDL experience, test benching, and a working knowledge of Xilinx design tools are a strong plus.  Familiarity with tools by Aldec and Synplicity would also be a plus.
