Senior Employee Communication Business Partner for a global Fortune 1000 company

Reporting to the head of US Employee Communications, the Senior Employee Communication Business Partner will be based in Waltham, MA, and will be responsible to provide strategic and tactical employee communication consultancy, advice, support and resources to members of the leadership team and senior management teams within the Electricity Transmission and Distribution businesses to provide support in delivering their objectives and key messages and engaging employees. The selected candidate will act as the business area’s communication champion within the Employee Communications and Brand team, working with colleagues to plan and prioritize activity, feed appropriate messages into local, national and global channels and media. Please note that this position will involve significant travel throughout the Northeast service area which may include overnight stays.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree; post-graduate or professional qualification in a related subject desired.
  • Extensive business communication management experience in networked blue-chip organizations with large field-forces (preferably utility, engineering or energy sectors) focusing on employee communication, strategy deployment and change management.
  • In-depth, demonstrable knowledge and experience of all aspects of the internal communication mix, including research and measurement.
  • Budget management.
  • Copywriting and editing, for business communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (including negotiation and influencing skills) and demonstrably excellent standards of literacy.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement employee communication plans and campaigns and to direct and manage others in doing so.
  • Excellent organizational and consultancy skills - strong influencer/negotiator, analytical and articulate.
  • Project management skills and knowledge.
  • High energy, inspirational and influential leadership skills – both for direct report and peers / virtual teams – coupled with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, able to build and maintain strong working relationships with others at all levels; self-starter.
  • Previous UK/US/global utility sector experience desired.
  • Consultancy experience desired.
  • Direct experience of translating complex safety, financial and performance messages for internal, field-based audiences in the utility/engineering sectors desired.
