Scope of Responsibilities  

  The Senior Engineer of P&T will develop automated test scripts, system test plans and procedures, and execute unit, integration, and systems level software testing of Carrier Ethernet Switches and network management software, Ethernet Services Manager (ESM), within the CESD department.

Specific Responsibilities  

·         Development of test plans and test automation for L2 Carrier Ethernet switches.

·         Execution of test procedures and reporting test results. 

·         Work with all levels of testing: unit testing, system integration testing, and network level testing.

·         Ensuring software meets standards and functional requirements to deliver quality product to customer.

·         Work with embedded software engineers, network management software engineers and hardware engineers to provide a cohesive end-to-end product.

·         Consult with development engineers in resolution of problems.

·         Support diagnostic and test activities to determine performance, validation, and solutions to complex or unusual software problems.

Education / Experience  

·         BSEE/BSCS

·         5+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications and test.

·         In-depth knowledge and experience with test automation concepts, theories, practices and procedures.

·         In-depth knowledge and experience with TCL/Expect.

·         Knowledge of computer and data communication systems, networking, Ethernet switches, L2/L3 Ethernet protocols and Real world topologies in general.

·         Experience with SNMP, Linux and SQL databases.

·         Experience with Ixia traffic generators and software test suites

·         Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

·         Ability to accurately document test progress and results.

·         Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to understand customers’ perspective

·         Strong team skills; Able to follow as well as lead

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong commitment to product excellence

·         Knowledge of software test processes

·         Experience with defect tracking systems
