Position: Environmental Emergency Preparedness / Emergency Response Planner, Coordinator or Manager (EPA START Emergency Management Team)

Office Locations: San Francisco, California office (94104)

Compensation: $60,000 to $85,000 annual salary DOE + benefits and bonuses

Job Summary:

The Johnson Group Staffing Company, Inc. is a technical staffing company specializing in Engineering & Environmental employment opportunities.  Our client, a large international environmental consulting firm, has a unique career/ employment opportunity to join their Bay Area office working in support of the USEPA Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START contract) which supports a broad range of environmental investigation and Homeland protection-oriented programs.

Our client is actively seeking a Mid to Senior Level experienced Environmental Emergency Preparedness/ Emergency Response Planner, Coordinator, or Manager to work within the firms Oakland or San Francisco, CA office. 

This position with this client will focus on supporting emergency planning and preparedness activities but will also be involved in the support of environmental and hazardous materials investigations.

Responsibilities:

• exercise design, facilitation, and evaluation.
• developing and conducting training.
• response planning for incidents of domestic terrorism, or public health and medical emergencies.
• public/stakeholder outreach and participation.
• operation of environmental sampling/monitoring equipment.
• travel and outdoor field work.
• planning, conducting, managing, and reporting on field assessments for hazardous materials.

Requirements:
• Minimum of a BA or BS in biology, geology, environmental science, chemistry, environmental engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional environmental consulting and hazardous material investigation/ response experience.
• 3+ years of related environmental consulting field experience in one or more of the following areas: emergency management; emergency planning; hazard or vulnerability assessments.
• Strong understanding of planning principles and plan writing experience.
• Knowledge of ICS, HSEEP, NRF, and NIMS. (required)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• OSHA 40-hr training preferred.
