This position can be located in either Spokane, WA or San Jose, CA.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Develop system test plans and procedures, and execute unit, integration, and systems level software testing of Carrier Ethernet Switches and network management software, Ethernet Services Manager (ESM), within the CESD department.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Development of test plans and test automation for L2 Carrier Ethernet switches.
• Execution of test procedures and reporting test results. 
• Work with all levels of testing: unit testing, system integration testing, and network level testing.
• Ensuring software meets standards and functional requirements to deliver quality product to customer.

·         Work with embedded software engineers, network management software engineers and hardware engineers to provide a cohesive end-to-end product.

·         Consult with development engineers in resolution of problems.

• Support diagnostic and test activities to determine performance, validation, and solutions to complex or unusual software problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE                       

•         BSEE/BSCS

•         5+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications and test.

CANDIDATE PROFILE                    

Skills:

•           Knowledge in computer and data communication systems, networking, Ethernet switches, L2/L3 Ethernet protocols and Real world topologies in general.

•           Experience with Network Management Systems including knowledge of SNMP, Oracle, Veritas, Solaris, Linux, and MySql.

•           Experience with Ixia, Spirent, Shenick DiversifEye, Agilent N2X, Juniper, and Cisco equipment.

•           Ability to resolve complex issues and adequately document test progress and results.

•           Knowledge of basic software test processes

•           Experience with defect tracking systems
