Role Summary/Purpose The Senior Engineer - Smart Grid IT Infrastructure will specialize in IT systems architecture development and analysis within the Smart Grid COE, partnering with several other teams and cross functionally within GE Energy.
Essential Responsibilities Provide expertise for the Smart Grid COE on customer projects involving IT systems architecture development and analysis, and partner with Principal IT Engineer on higher-level technical projects Analyze current utility / industrial IT assets of customers and impact of Smart Grid applications on the IT infrastructure, including integration of Smart Grid software with data management and/or enterprise level systems Propose new IT technologies for Smart Grid customers to holistically integrate operational and corporate systems as needed Consult with peers on cyber security projects as needed Coach peers on IT systems and application of Smart Grid software at enterprise system level Keep track of IT systems trends and developments to ensure Smart Grid COE maintains external focus and leadership position in industry Partner with internal stakeholders, as needed Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are critical
Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field of studyMinimum 5 years IT systems architecture, including software integration, data management, and enterprise level systems experience for both operational and corporate areas of the utility / industrial organizationELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:Ability to travel and work overtime as needed Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work.
