Role Summary/Purpose
The Senior Engineer - Turbine Airfoil Aeromechanics will formulate, plan and independently lead major turbine airfoil aeromechanics initiatives of an analytical and experimental nature to support key business objectives. In this role you will provide technical leadership and guidance to the design team responsible for structural integrity and life of industrial gas turbine hot gas path airfoil hardware.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Focus on design process and methods development that result in robust turbine mechanical designs
  • Deploy and improve internal aeromechanics analysis processes to insure integrity of design, drive productivity with Lean Six Sigma tools and standardize design solutions
  • Provide support for the current operating fleet with open communication and responsiveness to support customer base
  • Support cost reduction activities including design changes, analysis, validation planning and manufacturing implementation at vendors
  • Provide technical mentoring to domestic and global engineers to build a world-class global design team focused on design excellence, product cost and customer responsiveness

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years gas turbine aeromechanics design or related design experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in ANSYS and Unigraphics solid modeling
  • Minimum 2 years experience supporting customer demands involving mechanical field issues and RCA’s

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Desired Characteristics
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
  • Proficient with airfoil design and validation tools and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of industrial gas turbines
