Job Overview:
Reporting directly to the VP Finance, Global Services, this individual will provide primary financial support to the VP/GM of Managed Services (MS), Managed Services financial pricing and deal structuring leadership, global FP&A support, and provide business support across HDS for Managed Service related deals.
The position will be a key member of the Managed Services staff, providing end-to-end deal pricing analysis and structuring (multi-country, multi-element outsourcing deals), developing financial models and global/geo financial processes, risk assessment and mitigation, ROI analysis, establish and manage deal reviews, and ensure overall financial planning, reporting and analysis for Managed Services. Will work closely with the various businesses of HDS and the geographies to lead and drive global consistency of operational and financial processes, and ensure worldwide financial compliance (VSOE, SOX) for Managed Services.
Job Functions
Ø Financial leadership for managed service deal pricing, structuring and analysis: This position will play a key role in leading and bringing together various business units, functional leaders, geography's/ countries, to price and structure multi-element, long-term, capital intensive deals with a significant financial impact to the company. A key understanding of the development of complex financial models in the outsourcing space, performance based strategies and risk management is essential.
Ø Financial model development and standardization: P&L and cash flow analysis at the deal level for purposes of financial planning, reporting, analysis and ROI. Development of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to support the client engagement/decision process. Ongoing reports and analysis to ensure post audit of engagements won. Strong rigor in financial model development, with clear input, output, calculation and self audit capabilities.
Ø Pricing leadership: Deal pricing/development, leadership and coordination across HDS, geographies, and countries to ensure revenue and margin expectations are met across the organization, accounting compliance, and minimizing/mitigating risk to the company. Ensure appropriate pricing and review methodologies across all phases of deal development, through start-up, transition, ongoing and disposition activities.
Ø Development of global policies and processes for managed services (ex. Invoicing for multi-national deals, deal accounting, risk assessment, revenue recognition for multi-element deals, asset/people transfers, transition management, deal evaluation, SOX/VSOE,…)
Primary Qualifications
Ø BS or BA in Finance or Accounting. Strong operational support background
Ø 12-15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
Ø Experience with multi-year, multi-element, capital intensive and complex deal structuring.
Ø Experience with multi-year, multi-element, capital intensive and complex deal structuring.
Ø Knowledge of performance based managed service arrangements - development of service level agreements, objectives, penalties credits, risk/reward sharing, metrics
Ø Complex pricing model development ranging across multiple products, discount structures, risk/reward (performance) based attributes, across multiple years.
Ø Broad based experience in hardware and software products, product support, professional services and the outsourcing of these activities.
Ø Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) experience in terms of structuring and communicating a cost/benefit equation to the customer and correlating cost drivers with activity levels.
Ø Negotiation experience working directly with customers, ongoing client relationship management skills
Ø Strong communication and relationship skills working in worldwide and geography roles, supporting C-level executives and VP's, and working in a matrix environment.
Ø Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and an organization that both seeks to empower individuals but also be part of the decision making process.
Ø This role will initially lead large deals at both a worldwide and country level. A strong relationship background in terms of bringing people together and working across businesses and cultures internationally is essential. Travel expectations could range up to 35%.
Ø Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and tax/VAT implications.
