Senior Financial Analyst/Auditor

Travis County Auditor’s Office has an opening in its Revenue and Internal Controls Auditing Division.  This position requires very little traveling (no overnight travel) and only within the boundaries of Travis County.  We are looking for individuals who want to work in a progressive, challenging, and team-oriented work environment that accelerates employee growth and recognizes performance.

The position’s duties include evaluating internal controls structure of manual and automated financial information systems and performing financial audits to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and contractual provisions. Specialized skills that are of interest to us include extensive experience in such areas as: financial statement preparation; performing financial audits in accordance with auditing standards; general accounting; researching/analyzing applicable laws as it relates to county finances.

The ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting from a 5-year accredited university, 7+ years of relevant work experience, and professional certification.  To be successful in the job the candidate must possess excellent analytical, communication, computer, time management, and problem solving skills.  Additional characteristics include being a team player, self-starter, quick learner, the ability to plan/coordinate multiple projects to meet deadlines and be comfortable with GAAP, GAGAS, risk assessment, etc.  Previous experience in some of the above state specialized skills is highly desirable.  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
