Essence Healthcare is a physician led Medicare Advantage Health Plan currently operating in service areas in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, and Washington, with plans for future expansion. The intimate relationship between physician and nurses with the health plan allows Essence to integrate information systems to inform the clinical care and help all focus on managing individuals as well as populations of patients with disease.
Since enrolling its first member in July of 2004, it has grown to over 26,000 members and continues to grow and expand both at its St. Louis Headquarters and into new markets.
SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst will assist the Essence Healthcare Finance and Accounting department with the analysis and reporting of the financial performance of the medical groups participating with the Health Plan. Duties will include reviewing and analyzing provider contracts, preparing monthly financial reconciliations to the contracts, and presenting financial data to the leadership of the medical groups. The candidate will be involved in the preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory filings, as well as, participate in responding to audits by outside agencies and other tasks as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting and 3 to 5 years experience in financial analysis. Knowledge of the Medical Insurance Industry/Medicare Advantage, and statutory reporting is strongly preferred. MBA or CPA preferred. Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Excel and Access. Must be able to handle multiple projects with ease. Strong communication skills are required.
