Sr. Financial Analyst – Decision Support

Missouri Baptist, located in west St. Louis County, is a full-service, acute-care medical center, with top-rated heart and cancer programs.

The Senior Financial Analyst at Missouri Baptist will be responsible for performing periodic reporting; providing administrative and maintenance support for the TrendStar Decision Support system; and supporting revenue cycle management with ongoing assessment of revenue growth and managed care contract performance. This position will also be responsible for training and advising coworkers on the nuances, uses, and capabilities of the TrendStar system; assisting departments with annual operational budgets; developing financial analyses on new business opportunities; and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

- Serve as a Trendstar Subject Matter Expert by understanding the system functionality and becoming familiar with the unique aspects of the data to recognize commonalities/differences in the data between hospitals.

- Create and update databases, and test databases to validate against the source systems identifying variances. This will require learning the database modification functions and becoming familiar with the source systems

- Support Finance Director and Manager(s) on ad hoc analysis projects.

- Manipulating of data using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access (running Macros, creating pivot tables, etc.).

- Maintain and validate product line structures and prepare detailed ad hoc reports from multiple data/query sources into various report formats.

- Responsible for detailed financial analysis of assigned departmental operations and initiatives, and providing support to department director(s) and manager(s) concerning business operations and opportunities to improve performance. Prepare and present productivity analysis, projections, and business plans as assigned.  

- Responsible for developing and analyzing reports into a concise format for management.  

- Analyze large amounts of data, recommend the necessary operational changes needed to meet performance expectations, and show strong written and verbal communication skills. 

Provide management and staff support, when necessary, in the budget process.  

- Exhibit professionalism and good interpersonal skills while working with a variety of project team members, directors, managers, co-workers, and others.

Qualifications

- 2 years of Trendstar Experience is required and must be on application to receive consideration for an interview

- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Health Care Administration (MHA)
- Senior Analyst level experience - 2 years or more required
- Advanced Excel skills
- Intermediate System Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Implementation skills
- Exceptional Communication Skills
