Prestigious St. Louis Company is hiring a Senior Financial Risk Analyst. Working closely with software development teams and modeling groups on in house applications, this Senior Financial Risk Analyst will create and test enhancements to in-house applications and plug-ins that are used for prepayment and default error tracking. As this Senior Financial Risk Analyst you will work with existing customer retention models, manipulating data to establish the root cause of assumption deficiencies, verifying their ability to predict customer behavior.  (The goal is to more accurately forecast the expected value of portfolios in both current and changing interest rate environments.) 
This Senior Financial Risk Analyst will initially focus on trends, with a great deal of ad-hoc analysis and monthly reporting, understanding how models’ performance are impacted by newly introduced variables. This Senior Financial Risk Analyst will help determine via data queries and data manipulation if the best model is being used to map customer behavior or if another model should be introduced. How do model results compare to historical data and how do they compare to their competitors’. You will then work with team members discovering reasons for variances from established assumptions and will summarize related research and analysis for customer groups within this division and across corporate channels.  (Where are the models’ shortcomings? How are the models performing against their relative benchmarks?) 
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and summarize patterns or trends in customer behavior.  Our client requires an undergraduate degree in either finance, accounting, economics or mathematics, possibly with a minor or double major in computer science or MIS.  They prefer a minimum of 4 years experience and facility with software packages, and exposure to some programming, such as SQL.  (The ability to analyze and extract data from very large databases for specific needs is important.)  Progression towards the CFA designation would also be valued.
