Duties:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Graphic Designer will be to deliver exceptional graphic design for marketing and project-related efforts while contributing to the design culture of the firm and the professionalism of the marketing team. As a key member of the marketing team, the Senior Graphic Designer will be expected to efficiently produce the highest quality work in a reliable, organized and professional manner. The position will require the ability to manage multiple priorities while engaging constructively with professionals with various levels of experience and diverse backgrounds.
Specific responsibilities include design and management support for multiple projects, including artwork development and modification, typesetting, proofreading, proof approvals, printing and artwork transmittals. He/she will design and produce images, boards, brochures, and a variety of other graphic products for proposals, submittals, projects, presentations and trade shows. He/she will mentor and provide support and training to non-graphic design professionals.
The Senior Graphic Designer consults with internal and external client to evaluate individual project needs. He/she ensures full project management support from graphics end is being provided to clients, and proposes graphics solutions based on needs of clients. He/she ensures all projects within the department are progressing as scheduled, including prioritizing and managing costs and time schedules of multiple projects. He/she prepares cost estimate within quality specifications, financial constraints, and time schedule for project. He/she leads layout and design, and works with other staff members to ensure proper execution. He/she reviews final layout and suggests improvements as needed, and presents final layout to client for approval. He/she reviews quality of final product before release to client. He/she manages vendor relationships and ensures costs are efficient.
In addition to traditional graphic design skills, the Senior Graphic Designer will also illustrate a high degree of creativity in the use of technology, paper and packaging materials, printing techniques, information design and presentation as well as a capacity to engage in and, when appropriate, lead discussions that make graphic design an essential and strategic tool in the business development, marketing and brand-building processes of the company.
Qualifications:
· Art, Design, Drawing experience or education. High school diploma required.
· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design preferred.
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite as well as flash and HTML.
· Experience in electronic integrated document production using PDF or HTML
· Ability to coordinate and negotiate with vendors / publishing houses to schedule and produce high-quality publications on tight schedules
· Must be efficient, organized.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and work well with a team.
Experience:
This position generally requires 7+ years experience. This is an exempt position.
