Description:
In this position, the candidate will be responsible for the following:
Design and validate instrument cluster electronic circuitry:
a. Create hardware architecture
b. Define sub-system requirements based on customer documentation
c. Develop hardware DFMEA according to hardware requirements
d. Apply theoretical analysis and bench evaluations to develop new product circuitry
e. Ensure all designs fully meet applicable EMC requirements
f. Create full schematics for instrument cluster circuits
g. Create Hardware Software Interface (HSI) document for instrument clusters
2. Per above, work closely with PCB and EMC engineers
3. Support initial hardware "bring-up" with usage of JTAG tools
4. Develop and review product test validation plans
5. Manage all responsibilities to meet customer delivery expectations:
a. Satisfy hardware timing requirements
b. Compliance with BOM cost targets
6. Use and apply all JCI standards and systems (BOS, PLUS, Lean, CPP, CMP, EPIC, BEP….)
7. Develop and apply a method for capturing and effectively feeding forward lessons learned from prior programs
Qualifications;
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 5+ yrs experience designing hardware for embedded processor platforms. Automotive or aerospace industry highly desired.
- Expertise and knowledge of all aspects of the integration of graphical processers into instrument cluster applications
- Experience using Logic analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and JTAG debuggers
- Experience in analysis using tools like PSPICE, Mathcad, Excel, etc
- Experience designing electronic assemblies for low cost, high volume production
- Experience with Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
- Experience designing electronic assemblies to meet customer requirements
