Position:           Senior Hardware

Location:           San Jose, CA

Senior Hardware Engineer. As a Senior Hardware Engineer you will work as a part of an involved, creative team investigating, designing, developing, testing and/or maintaining features and circuits which are part of Sunrise Telecom’s innovative portable test instruments.You will design, develop, test and troubleshoot electrical circuit boards and FPGAs that conform to product requirements, architecture, industry standards, and provide for reuse and maintainability.

The candidate must have:

• 7+ years experience developing hardware and FPGAs for the telecom arena.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (SONET/SDH, OTN, Ethernet, FC ...)
• Experience with complex high speed FPGA designs; specifically telecom
• Ethernet MAC and PHY experience is a plus
• Experience with Telecom Protocol FPGA designs using VHDL or Verilog
• Experience in XAUI, SFI, SPI, SGMII, XBI interface and DDR memory
• Experience with newest Xilinx and Altera devices
• Familiarity with ModelSim and script language
• Minimum 5 years working in high frequency/speed digital designs
• Optical interface design experience, such as SerDes, Framer and Deframer
• Self motivated, with good working habits
• System integration experience
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• BSEE required
