Our Human Resource team partners with other business groups to align HR expertise to the business strategy, particularly focusing on the attraction, development, and retention of our associates and leaders. We are currently seeking a creative and analytical Senior Human Resource Generalist for our Hampton Roads(Norfolk/Chesapeake), VA location. The selected candidate will make substantive, long-term contributions to the organization by effectively:
- Supporting the Human Resource function for an 800 seat service center with a strong focus on employee relations and performance and talent management
- Influencing a diverse client base by providing sound advice and counsel on complex and sensitive HR issues
- Advising and coaching managers on employee relations, performance and talent management, and employee and management development issues and opportunities
- Enhancing organizational learning and development by facilitating HR-related training programs and group discussions on various topics, such as leadership development, change management, and performance management
- Acting as a change agent to integrate successful and strategic human capital practices into the organization
- Providing leadership and education to managers and associates on the application of company policies and procedures
- Managing the client through matters related to benefits, compensation, and recruiting in partnership with other areas of HR
- Facilitating the performance review program to ensure effectiveness and alignment with individual performance
- Conducting HR trend analysis and reporting activities to identify opportunities and recommend solutions
- Leading and/or participating in HR and business unit projects
- Collaborating with HR and business professionals in a team-oriented environment, building and maintaining strong working relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable business, human resources management or ILR program; MBA or Masters in Industrial Relations or Human Resources Management is preferred
- 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience
- Demonstrated experience with human resources policies, programs, and practices in a manner that optimizes human capital, including a sophisticated technical knowledge of HR laws and their applications.
- Experience identifying and addressing complex performance management and other employee relations issues
- Excellent analytical/problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
