Senior Human Resources Generalist

The Senior HR Generalist position provides responsive service to internal clients in corporate and field locations to identify and address employee relations and performance management issues in alignment with organizational policies and goals and in compliance with federal and state legal requirements. The Senior HR generalist partners with leaders and associates via training, coaching, and intervention to ensure that our work environment consistently attracts, engages, develops, and retains talented associates.


Duties:


·         Serve as the initial point of HR contact for leaders requiring support and counsel on employee relations and performance management issues and strategies


·         Partner with leaders on identifying legal and effective solutions that address concerns from multiple perspectives and mitigate organizational risk


·         Provide HR policy and procedural interpretation and guidance


·         Design and conduct training on HR policies, procedures, and processes


·         Partner with area management to conduct investigations into concerns and complaints; identify, implement, and provide a written summary of immediate and systemic solutions


·         Analyze employee relations trends and patterns to advise HR leadership on proactive solutions to improve organizational and workforce effectiveness


·         Conduct new employee orientation for corporate associates


·         Work collaboratively with other HR and organizational teams to ensure accurate and timely information sharing and teamwork occurs


·         Conduct workforce assessments in partnership with leaders to improve team effectiveness


·         Provide input to HR leadership on revising policies, procedures, and processes as appropriate


·         Partner with leaders to appropriately define job duties and requirements via job descriptions


·         Provide headcount reporting including turnover analysis


·         Conduct exit interviews and advise HR leadership on strategies to reduce turnover


·         Generate employee recognition certificates and documentation; advise on additional effective recognition & reward strategies


·         Support other HR functions and activities including projects as assigned by HR leadership 


Qualifications:


·         Five to eight years of HR generalist experience required, with significant focus on employee relations, training, and performance management. Experience in recruiting or compensation a plus


·         Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience


·         Current knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations


·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience in formal and informal presentations to small and large groups


·         Critical thinking and problem solving skills working with all levels of the organization


·         Strong  computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research


·         Experience in extracting, analyzing, and reporting on data from an HRIS and other data sources


·         Prior experience supporting multi-unit, multi state operations in a fast paced environment preferred; HR retail experience a plus


·         PHR or SPHR certification preferred


·         Prior management or supervisory experience a plus


·         Ability to travel up to 10-20%
