We are currently looking for a Senior IP Telephony/Voice Engineer. Please read on for more details regarding this position.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Travelers is modernizing its communications infrastructure. We are moving more towards IP Telephony, centralizing voice systems to our data centers, moving from voicemail to unified messaging, and developing solutions for home workers. We need a senior telephony engineer who will work with other senior and junior engineers on the voice team to:
· Design, engineer and implement IP Telephony systems (Avaya and Cisco today, possible Microsoft in the future)
· Design, engineer and implement voicemail/unified messaging systems (Avaya today, Avaya, Cisco and Microsoft all possible in the future)
· Train other areas on voice technologies
· Develop capacity management and performance plans
· Provide tier 3 support
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience with Cisco or Avaya telephony is required, along with data network experience. Ideal candidates will have both Cisco and Avaya experience.

. SME level knowledge of Avaya IP Telephony

. Modular Messaging, Message Networking and Intuity
. Hardphones and softphones
· Other technical skills
. Advanced experience with Telecom Carrier services; ordering, installation and troubleshooting
. Understanding of data network fundamentals such as switching and routing
. Microsoft technologies such as Windows workstation and server, OCS and Exchange
. SIP, H.323, IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, QoS, etc
.Other
. Bachelor's degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, etc) desired or equivalent experience
. Master's degree in a technical field or MBA not required, but desired
. Industry certifications not required but a plus
. The ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects within the established budget, schedule and scope
