Senior Industrial Engineer

About the Job

We currently have an opening for a Senior Industrial Engineer.  RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS NOT PROVIDED FOR THIS POSITION.  We are targeting candidates in the MA/RI/NH area only! 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Develop and maintain engineered labor standards for distribution and warehousing functions. 

·        Analyze work force utilization, facility layout, operational data such a production costs, process flow charts and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of workforce and equipment.

·        Make recommendations where applicable for process optimization, scheduling, capacity planning, performance measurement, cost feasibility analysis (ROI), increased productivity, better customer service and forecasting. 

·        Effectively analyze product data to recommend improvements in the distribution center facility design through capacity evaluation and planning.  

·        Improve work flow by recommending modifications with processes, work stations, developing new procedures recommending equipment modifications and purchases.

·        Develop and evaluate facility layout changes that will improve productivity and efficiency as needed. Provide cost savings associated with facility layout changes.

·        Implement and train Distribution Center Management as well as hourly support staff in the proper methods and procedures to ensure that an acceptable level of productivity is sustained.

·        Study and analyze current processes (time/motion studies, etc.), determine their effectiveness and recommend strategies for improvement

 

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent with 7 – 10 years experience as an Industrial Engineer in Distribution or Manufacturing environment.Experience with material handling equipment, conveyor systems and sortation systems.
  • Proven track record implementing work measurement programs inclusive of    time / motion studies utilizing MTM or equivalent and incentive systems.
  • Experience with capacity planning and facility layouts in a fast paced environment.  
  • Ability to manage Capital projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Crystal reports desirable.
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Detail, deadline and results orientated.
