Department Overview

Symantec's Sales Organization offers enterprise customers more than 200 solutions within its security, storage and systems management software portfolios. These solutions are delivered to customers through multiple sales channels, including Direct B2B, Value-Added Resellers and Strategic Partnerships. Responsibilities

• Sell Symantec's products and services by understanding our customers' business needs and serving as informational resources to them and our partners.
• Maintain and keep abreast of industry trends, our products and services, and the competitive posture of Symantec.
• Prepare activity and forecast reports while running our territories to jointly maximize sales and customer satisfaction. Develop basic account and territory planning.
• Performance as an Inside Sales Representative is measured by bookings attainment of an annual team quota, and activities that drive sales and pipeline growth.
• Business-to-business Inside Sales handling all stages of the sales cycle: Pipeline Management, Forecasting, Prospecting, and Sales Account Management.
• Work in a team model, which may include field sales, SE's, other sales specialists and Partners.
• Sell to a variety of buying influences, generally up to mid- level managers.
• Moderate knowledge of data integrity industry, Symantec solutions, some competitive positioning and market-buying behavior.
• Utilize internal tools including Symantec CRM, intranet tools, Oracle, Microsoft Office and others.
• Serve as a mentor for more junior representatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.
• 4-7 years experience sales or related field.
• Preferred background would include working as part of a successful sales team within a large company: Preferable verticals of financial, insurance and health industry is common.
• Must possess presentation-ready knowledge of several Symantec or competitor solutions and have expertise in products.
• Must be recognized as the product expert of an assigned product group or specific technology.
• Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to relate to a wide range of technical staff and managers in customer environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
