Job Description:
Senior Programmers will be responsible for the analysis, architecture review and enforcement, design and implementation of software . Senior Programmers are also expected to perform code reviews, design reviews, test case reviews and participate in use case reviews as required. The position requires good communication with the architecture team, business analysts, production services group and other staff on the development team. Senior Programmers may be called upon to lead small team projects and act as a liaison between developers and IT management or other IT departments. A Programmer is expected to set the example for best practices in the software development lifecycle, suggest improvements and monitor through the review process that others are following the SDLC accurately as well. Demonstrating best practices in change control process and design patterns is also part of the senior programmers responsibilities. Programmers may be asked to work after hours to support deadlines or release schedules as project plans dictate.
