We have an immediate need for an experienced Java Programmer/Anlyst
JOB DESCRIPTION
FUNCTION: The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for the development and support of HomeDirectUSAs Order Management application. This position works closely with business units and IT technical staff to ensure business requirements deliver to plan and budget. This position works with the business to develop reports and enhancements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop and maintain applications within the application and technical infrastructure at HDUSA
- Develop and design business solutions using PL/SQL and Oracle Forms
- Help internal customers in defining business requirements and then assist in turning them into system solutions to the business issues
- Develops and documents requirements for reports
- Assist in database tuning
- Assist in the development of functional business requirements.
- Identifies, evaluates, and implements complex integrated operational changes to improve automated processes.
- Manual Testing experience - there is no testing team therefore this will remain part of your duties (moving to automated testing but not there yet).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Four years of development and support experience with Java toolset
- Experience programming in Java and PL/SQL
- Knowledge of Linux and Oracle
- Two years of development experience with Websphere
- Three plus years of development experience with relational databases like Oracle, DB2 and SQL server.
- Experience migrating PL/SQL to Java
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excel in interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient in problem solving
- Must be a self motivator
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
