Our National Security Division is currently seeking a Sr. Life Science Technician. This position is located in Aberdeen, Maryland.
The Sr. Life Science Technician's responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible for general laboratory support of applied cell-based immunology projects and microbiology projects.
- Prepare media and reagent stocks, autoclave and dispose of bio-hazardous waste, maintain supply inventory, place supply orders.
- Perform general lab maintenance and cleaning.
- Perform and document assays
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Ability to work in biological safety level 2 and 3 laboratories.
- Candidates must be US citizens, and be willing to receive immunizations that may be required to perform BSL-3 laboratory work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoJ security clearance.
- Previous experience conducting research in a laboratory
- Ability to work as part of a research team and be willing to work occasional weekend shifts as needed.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, biochemistry, or equivalent.
- Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) experience.
- Previous experience in one of more of the following areas; eukaryotic cell culture, aseptic technique, ELISAs, microscopy, microbiology, BSL-3.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office desired.
