POSITION SUMMARY:
|
Directs coordinates and integrates teams of personnel in specialized functions into a total logistics management program. Assesses and develops requirements within available or allocated resources for funds manpower facilities equipment supplies and services. Utilizes prescribed metrics to measure trends and indicators and provides status to senior managers. Understands and applies principals of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) system management logistics readiness logistics plans logistics information systems automated data processing and Foreign Military Sales (FMS). Researches and provides details to senior management. Provide acquisition and sustainment logistics support. Perform research and analysis of complex and unique logistics problems associated with the support of FMS Aircraft. Be knowledgeable of logistics best commercial practices. Familiar with and utilize various government computer systems. Assist with executing the actions required to properly manage all technical data and support FMS operational requirements integration to the extent of conceptual solutions. |
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
Provide in-depth acquisition and sustainment logistics coordination expertise and support
Perform research and analysis of logistics problems associated with the support of FMS aircraft
Logistics management analyses prepare written reports conduct studies define alternative solutions and recommend actions and perform any related tasks to support existing and projected modification programs
Review technical problems on aircraft and operational equipment received in the form of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) Material Deficiency Reports (MDRs) and other reliable source data and recommend modifications and suggestions
Perform technical research in order to validate part numbers determine applications and applicability determine replacement factors and cost and repair levels
Evaluate and recommend supply decisions on part number requisitions
Work with Government programs maintenance data logistics managers and foreign military customers to identify document and resolve problems with all programs
Assist with developing a process for country specific modification approval based on the integration of information derived from all sources of C/KC-135 related engineering maintenance and flight data
Review and understand the Delegation of Disclosure Authority Letter (DDL) as well as analyze all documentation that would provide support for recommendations when requirements dictate
Provide technical leadership to other logisticians on the team
Provide weekly status on activities and inputs to monthly and quarterly reports

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
|
BS degree in program/logistics management or related degree – preferred and may substitute for experience
Minimum of twelve years of logistics managements is required with four years supervisory experience in logistics management oversight workload or management
Experience and ability to effectively interact with upper-level management and personnel of diverse backgrounds
Proven demonstrated experience in the above stated duties and responsibilities
Experience working in a professional fast paced office environment (USAF/DoD experience preferred)
Experience with Internet and the Defense Department/USAF Intranet/email applications and standard software |

Expert ability to analyze complex logistics problems and recommend/provide solutions
