This position supports the RDNA Core Brands portfolio, comprised of BeneFIX, Xyntha, Genotropin and Rapamune. These Core Brands remain the critical foundation of the Pfizer Rare Disease business, and will generate more than $400M in net revenue in 2018. This role will support the Core Brands team by delivering innovative and patient-focused consumer marketing programs to sustain our legacy of leadership in the hemophilia and growth hormone categories in the U.S.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Manager, Consumer and Digital Marketing, Core Brands on the US Commercial team within Rare Disease North America will develop and lead innovative, patient-centric promotional initiatives to enhance  a legacy of leadership for the treatment of patients with hemophilia or growth hormone deficiency. This role requires in-depth consumer marketing expertise to advance brand imperatives that will enhance the value of the Core Brands portfolio (BeneFIX, Xyntha, Genotropin, Rapamune) within a complex, dynamic, highly competitive, and extremely patient-centric treatment environment. The role requires strong strategic, analytic, and decision-making skills, a creative mindset, and a proven track record of success exceling in a matrixed environment.

Develop and lead implementation of consumer and digital marketing tactics and initiatives:

  • Lead the development and implementation of key consumer marketing tactics, including conventions, digital initiatives and social media strategies, tactics, and messaging
  • Manage consumer campaign and continually refine messaging and communication strategy; assess effectiveness of current marketing programs and optimize mix to increase impact
  • Manage social media and unbranded consumer education campaigns and continually refine messaging and communication strategy; assess effectiveness of current marketing programs and optimize mix to increase impact
  • Responsible for creation of materials for the hemophilia Patient Affairs Liaisons (PALs); work with agency partners to create and implement pieces
  • Oversee all hemophilia and growth hormone patient support and education initiatives including Pfizer Hemophilia Connect and the Pfizer Bridge Program
  • Work with Brand Leads on managing patient advocacy organizations
  • Responsible for development of multichannel approaches to patient communications including digital strategy and implementation, and media placement, where applicable
  • Maintain and promote ongoing digital innovation initiatives including, Facebook, HemMobile® and MinecraftTM
  • Develop and execute effective search, social media and websites platforms to drive engagement with consumers
  • Enhance patient adherence programs, including the customer-relationship management (CRM) platform
  • Assist in management of budget to support quarter close process and ensure on-budget completion of tactic
  • Participate in ongoing planning and refinement of portfolio strategies, plans and tactics, including yearly operating and tactical planning
  • Engage Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, PCA, SAS and internal stakeholders to ensure strategic and tactical alignment

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work effectively in a brand team-based environment and partner with internal and external stakeholders:

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA or other advanced degree highly desirable
  • Demonstrated success executing complex marketing programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with varied internal stakeholders to improve business performance.
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement and of influencing business outcomes across diverse functional boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to manage advertising and other agencies to produce communications that impact business performance
  • Solid business acumen and organizational skills with excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management
  • Strong analytical skills; detail and action oriented; creative
  • Experience with product positioning and branding is not necessary but would be desirable
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively both one-on-one and in groups.

  • Five or more years of experience in  marketing or related marketing area
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing required, consumer marketing experience highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a matrix organization desirable, but not required
  • Field Sales experience desirable but not necessary
  • Must be able to organize multiple projects over time
  • Strong Presentation skills:  Experience with presentations to large group using a variety of media
  • Agency or vendor management experience required
  • Estimated 20% domestic travel will be required.
