Battelle's Energy Technology Global Business is expanding its team and services to support rapid growth in SmartGrid and Demand Response technology and implementation to deliver strategic solutions to the electric utility industry. We are actively seeking an experienced industry leader to contribute to business development and program execution activities to meet strategic and profitability goals. This position is located in Columbus, OH.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for supporting the growth and managing the operations of the Grid Systems business line. The ideal candidate will apply his/her demonstrated experience in and knowledge of SmartGrid technology and implementation to support strategy development, business development, and program execution to meet annual sales and net profit targets set by senior management. Responsibilities would include:
- Support Battelle's Vice President of Energy Infrastructure in the development of business line strategy and overseeing strategic investments in technology and capabilities development
- Actively participate in marketing and proposal activities to clients
- Ensure successful execution on business line programs
- Contribute to the management of the portfolio of business line accounts, including both external client and internal research programs as directed
- Develop, manage, and perform technical work on related programs to achieve project billability of at least 40%.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Minimum of a Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working for, or as a consultant to, the electric utility industry
- Demonstrated expertise in SmartGrid technology, through either technology development or its implementation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with client organizations, senior management, and technical and support staff
- Minimum of 5 years of program management experience
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Project Management Professional Certification with working knowledge of earned value management processes
