As a Senior Manager, Learning Management working on the R&D Quality team, you will be empowered to provide strategic direction for the development, implementation and maintenance of GxP Training for R&D., and a typical day will include: 

Objectives:

  • Advises and recommends the use of technology (such as the learning management system, e-learning authoring software, graphic/multimedia software and training evaluation and testing tools, etc.) to develop, implement and evaluate learning solutions for R&D.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance is maintained through all levels of the learning platform

Accountabilities:

  • Provides leadership in the planning, analysis, design, development, deployment and evaluation processes of learning management in the R&D organization. Ensures collaboration with training personnel within the functional areas of R&D.
  • Assess the linguistic, learning, cultural and computing/technical environment challenges within Takeda organization to determine the best approach to develop and implement learning solutions.
  • Provides key leadership in the selection and management of vendor’s who are designated to support any training initiative when internal resources are not available.
  • Responsible for the training of other R&D Documentation and Training team members on training development methodology including e-learning development, project management, and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with IT and other Takeda training support areas (Commercial Quality, Sales, Compliance, Human Resources, etc.) to establish standard processes and systems for training development and implementation.
  • Evaluates, selects, integrates, and manages use of software tools to develop e-learning media objects, programs, and testing/evaluation tools. Serves as a liaison to the IT organization for training software and learning management system integration to ensure issues are communicated and resolutions are obtained.
  • Engages with Takeda personnel who perform administrative and technical activities to support this position and create a positive work environment.
  • Serves on cross-functional training project teams in Takeda and acts as the subject matter expert relative to training and the processes and systems that support training. 
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections as needed
  • Other duties as may be assigned to ensure consistent and compliant operations within R&D Quality.

Competencies & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. An advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years experience working in a pharmaceutical or other highly-regulated corporate environment.
  • Minimum 6 years experience in instructional design, including knowledge of instructional design methodology, adult learning theory and the ability to conduct needs assessment in an organization.
  • Minimum 2 years eLearning design experience and demonstrated expertise in the technical development, implementation and troubleshooting of web-based training modules.
  • Minimum 2 years people management experience and/or proven leadership experience in managing a matrix team.
  • Minimum 2 years managing vendors developing training preferred
  • Experience as a project manager leading complex projects preferred
  • Experience with online authoring and graphics applications and tools.
  • Experience with managing data in MS Excel using Excel functions
  • Experience in managing Sharepoint sites.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Proven work ethic marked by initiative, attention to detail, self direction.
