Senior Manager, Regional Marketing

Position Summary:  Responsible for strategic development of local marketing activities for franchise markets within defined market areas in the U.S.  Serve as a marketing consultant within franchise markets.   Position reports to Director, Local Marketing.  Key support comes from Director of Field Marketing, Vice President of Marketing, Chief Administrative Officer, Vice President of Public Relations and the Brand Marketing team. Travel averages 40%-60% of the time.

Core Franchisee Market Responsibilities:

 

I.  Establish and maintain clear and consistent communication with franchisee partners regarding company marketing strategies, priorities and tests

·         Review and provide feedback on annual marketing plans, as well as plans for grand openings, and remodeled facilities.

·         Work with franchise partners to develop a calendar for annual planning and a list of key deliverables our franchise partners need to go through their annual planning process

·         Provide budget recommendations for Local Advertising Fund

·         Provide marketing infrastructure recommendations

·         Share and discuss results from ongoing marketing tests and research as appropriate

·         Develop and maintain a process for sharing marketing best practices

·         Identify and facilitate the closing of information gaps

 

II.  Act as an advocate for franchisee partners business for all issues related to marketing

  • Facilitate the resolution of marketing-related questions or concerns from franchisee partners
  • Respond to all communication from franchisee partners within 24 hours
  • Represent the franchisee partner perspective at internal meetings with other departments
  • Demonstrate interest in our franchisee partner’s business and a commitment to helping them succeed

 

III.  Establish and develop strong positive relationships with internal customers and key influencers within the region

IV.  Assist in the process of hiring and training franchise partner Local Marketing Managers

  • Interview and provide feedback on Local Marketing Manager candidates as appropriate
  • Plan and conduct annual Marketing Orientation meeting to aid in the training of new franchise partner Local Marketing Managers
  • Between annual Marketing Orientation offsite meetings, meet one-on-one with franchise partner Local Marketing Managers to aid in their training as appropriate.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and provide final brand approval for any locally-produced marketing materials
  • Advertising Association (Co-op) participation and budget management as required
  • Assist in the agency selection process as necessary
  • Conduct ongoing analysis and review of key metrics for all company and franchisee markets
  • Attend semi-annual Franchise Roundtable and other meetings as required
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for qualifying Local Advertising Fund expenditures and all marketing aspects of the Franchise Development Document
  • Provide brand stewardship and direction for maintaining brand standards for marketing materials
  • Attend grand openings and key events as appropriate

Essential Job Requirements:

  • BA in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred
  • Seven to ten years of progressive field marketing experience or combination of marketing industry experience and progressive career development
  • Experience working with franchise/franchisee relationships in a Restaurant/Concept environment
  • Strong Media experience
  • Extensive marketing planning experience across marketing disciplines
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams
  • Excellent presentation skills and objection-handling ability
  • Experience within the restaurant industry or related category preferred
  • Experience with community relations and/or partnership marketing preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and external partners
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Takes personal responsibility for the continuous learning of new knowledge, skills, business acumen and experiences
  • Budget management experience
  • Ability to work from home-based office
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required
