Organization Objective/Purpose:
The Schwab Client Services Finance Team provides financial analysis and strategic analytical support for Schwab’s client facing businesses, including the Schwab Investor Services division and the Schwab Institutional Services division.  The objectives of this team are to help our business partners maximize profits through rigorous and fact-based analysis to support strategic decision making and planning, understand business trends, and communicate segment performance.

Brief Description of Roles:

We are actively looking for 2 Senior Managers, with both roles requiring similar core skills sets, client focus and financial/analytic support.  One role, supporting Client Experience, is more client segment-focused (e.g., Affluent, Advised, Active Investors, etc.), while the other role, supporting Shared Strategic Services, is more product-focused (e.g., analyses/initiatives relating to the firm’s products, tools and platforms such as margin loans, cash/deposit balances, banking features, etc.).  We will effectively be reviewing your resume for both positions.

As a Senior Manager - Finance and Strategy Analysis, you will be a key individual contributor on a team of 4-5 professionals.    We are a very fast-paced analysis group, and we work on a wide variety of “ad hoc” strategic projects simultaneously.  Projects such as new product or client economics, relationship/service model economics, pricing, and strategic initiatives, etc.    We regularly work across multiple business lines and on projects that cross multiple client segments.

Responsibilities include accurately projecting the financial impact of decisions on pricing, strategic initiatives, offers and products, promotional strategies, service models, staffing and incentives, as well as other ad hoc analysis related to understanding business trends, business performance, and product performance.   Projects will entail building financial models of varying complexity, obtaining and manipulating data, and preparing summaries and presentations for business partners and senior management.

Roles requires extensive business partner interaction (business, product, and strategy teams), and is ideal for a candidate interested in the economics of financial products and services.

These are senior-level individual contributor roles.

-          Experience with sourcing data from corporate database applications and manipulating large datasets.

-          Advanced Excel knowledge is required.

-          Access query knowledge, and experience with Business Objects strongly preferred.

-          Ability to synthesize data and summarize findings into effective presentations.

-          Superior analytical skills and attention to detail.

-          Ability to manage several workstreams/projects concurrently.

-          Strong and demonstrated business partnering skills, especially in cross-functional teams.

-          Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment.

Key success factors in this role include:

-          Ability to logically structure analytical problems and use critical reasoning skills to evaluate financial opportunities/issues.

-          Strong business partnership and influencing skills to gain alignment on project requirements and obtain resources and information.

-          Capable of communicating in terms of big picture, but working with close attention to detail and accuracy.
