RESPONSIBILITIES
• In collaboration with the overall manufacturing and development teams, drive new product introductions to successful launch status.
• In collaboration with the overall manufacturing engineering teams, drive improvements in manufacturing efficiency and yields.
• Technical problem solving.
• Excellent skills at work flow and procedure creation, and subsequent skill developing the capabilities of the technician staff.
• Mfg Eng skills for process development (Six Sigma, Lean Mfg) 

FUNCTIONAL MASTERY
• Functional mastery of assembly processes and performance diagnostics involving PCB’s, electronics and electro-optic components and modules, fiber optic components and or mechanical components will be a key part of this role. 
• Must be able to utilize the NPI (new product introduction) tools and methods (catalyst).  Additionally, problem solving using disciplined approaches (e.g. DOE) will be necessary as we launch and then evolve our products through their lifecycles.
• Demonstrated Engineering skills.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS
The candidate will enable the manufacturing team to navigate the technical hurdles of product transfer, process development and maturation, and product evolution.  A high degree of collaboration with the cross function team members will be required.  Rigorous adherence to the principles of disciplined GMP / FDA requirements is required.  The candidate must be skilled at coaching and teaching technicians from various parts of the world. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be adept at documentation.  Extreme discipline and adherence to change control and safety are necessary elements of the day to day role.

QUALIFICATIONS
• BSEE or BSME
• Min of 5 years experience in Optoelectronics, opto-mechancial or engineering field, encompassing process engineering, NPI and  manufacturing engineering including cable assemblies (cable assemblies are a plus).
• Medical device manufacturing experience preferred (military or aerospace acceptable).
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001a plus

RATES / TERMS
6+ month contract
$40-45/hour
