Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer position at the GDATP Saco, Maine Operations facility is responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing processes, proofing new processes, and performing root cause analysis for problem operations. This position is tasked with implementing continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Will be responsible for disposing non-conforming material, identifying and implementing new manufacturing technologies, programming CNC equipment, and providing input into fixturing and gauging approaches.

Interfaces with production control, product engineering, quality engineering and management to assure on-time delivery while maintaining quality and cost objectives. Works closely with hourly workforce, assist with assembly issues, provide training as required. Supports assembly operations of aircraft and crew served weapon systems in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education:
BS Degree in Engineering or other technical field.

Required Work Experience:

  • Four or more years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing engineering role, including experience with conventional and CNC machining processes such as milling, turning, forging, heat treating, welding, gun drilling, grinding.
  • Must have experience in the use of CAD software (Unigraphics preferred).
  • Proven experience and proficiency with Problem Solving, Project Management and Lean Six-Sigma techniques also required.
  • Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.
