Senior Analyst, Market Intelligence (P-0567)

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Market Intelligence. The successful local candidate will have the ability to consolidate and analyze information from various primary and secondary sources by applying judgment and making recommendations using fragmented or incomplete data as well as execute multiple research projects at the same time with tight deadlines. The candidate will also need to understand information needs of key stakeholders and develop novel ways to meet those needs by evaluating new databases and implementing new analytical tools. The Senior Analyst will report directly to the Senior Director of Strategy Development & Market Intelligence, and will support the Strategy Development & Market Intelligence function in meeting the portfolio planning, market analysis, and business strategy needs for Patheon worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Analyze pharmaceutical market intelligence for use in portfolio planning, customer profiling, and commercial assessments.

·         Leverage pharmaceutical databases (e.g., IMS) to analyze product/market trends and dynamics across multiple therapy areas for use in portfolio planning.

·         Leverage pharmaceutical forecasting tools to prepare high level forecast validation models for use in portfolio planning.

·         Leverage pharmaceutical pipeline databases (e.g., Pharmaprojects) to assist in portfolio planning.

·         Research databases, hard copy, and online sources of information to identify and analyze companies within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on identifying business development leads.

·         Conduct competitive analysis of companies in the contract development and manufacturing industry.

·         Define strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for Patheon portfolio products, inclusive of an understanding of the market environment, both current and future, that these products will face.

·         Help identify and analyze partnering and acquisition opportunities that are a strategic fit.

Requirements:

·         Degree in a scientific or business discipline (MBA preferred)

·         Excellent analytical skills

·         5 years of “hands-on” experience with pharmaceutical market intelligence databases

·         Experience in forecasting Rx pharmaceutical products (preferred)

·         Expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint

·         High degree of flexibility and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight time constraints
