Strong organizational skills and a warehousing or distribution background will help you succeed in this position at MWVCalmar. As a Materials Associate at our Grandview facility, you’ll ensure that our shipping/receiving activity and inventory levels allows us to meet production demand, which in turn helps us satisfy the customer.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT MWV

As a senior materials associate, you will work closely with your team members with responsibility for:
  • Pulling and processing of sales orders or pick lists daily, weekly and monthly
  • Receiving products into inventory
  • Processing documents for container loading, consolidation and securing
  • Processing the documents for the loading and unloading of trucks, cleaning, and work area organization. Working with Intercompany departments and Freight forwarders, Carriers, Customs, and customers

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 2 year associates or technical trade degree/certificate required
  • 2+ years of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution or warehouse environment with knowledge of shipping, receiving, barcode systems, inventory and logistics functions and terminology
  • Knowledge of small parcel shipping and “Less than truckload” (LTL) shipping including “Bill of Lading” (BOL) processing and freight cost accounting as well as International documentation such as commercial invoices, airway bills, hazardous declarations, customs clearance invoice and regulations specific to each destination country
  • Experience in working with customs, freight forwarders and inter-company management
  • Knowledge of all modes of transportation (ocean, air, ground and intermodal) and paper work requirements for each mode
  • Intermediate user experience with Microsoft office suite including Word or Excel AND experience with mainframe or related manufacturing/distribution software (SAP, Oracle, or other)
  • Must be able to perform data entry and word processing using MS Office Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • NAFTA and C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) knowledge strongly desired
