The Opportunity - Our Client needs a Sr. Mechanical Engineer who will manage a dynamic team of engineers that perform conceptual & detailed design analysis and verification of complex airborne mechanical/electro-mechanical devices or assemblies using advanced principles, theories, and concepts. Responsibilities include design of structures, mechanisms, thermal systems & electronic packaging.  They are looking for a leader with demonstrated and mature judgment in making technical recommendations.  You will get to develop new engineering concepts and theories pertaining to system configuration and disciplines relating to stabilized optical systems.

What We Are Looking For In a Candidate:

  • Engineering Degree
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with:
    •  Infrared Sensors and/or Cameras
    • CAD solid modeling
    • Mechanical design
    • Structural and thermal analysis
    • Bearings and gear train design
    • Packaging design including functional and transport shock requirements and testing
    • Mechanical design of gimbals and thermal imaging systems for aerospace applications
    • Testing of designs for performance, vibration, and thermal
    • Payload dynamic response analysis of forced base inputs of vibration and shock
    • Selection of connectors, wiring and PCB mechanical design
    • Mechanical engineering concepts and practices utilized in an electronics manufacturing environment.
    • Sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, material science, thermal analysis, drafting standards, product documentation and component qualification.

 

Reports to:  Director of Engineering

 

The position includes a competitive base salary (110K – 125K), performance bonus program and a great employee benefits program.
