Requirements
Tier 3/4 support for high speed packet services and technologies, including AT&T's set of Ethernet offerings, Layer2 VPNs (VPLS), and Layer3 MPLS based VPNs, such as IPFR and AVPN. Extensive knowledge of Ethernet, VPLS, IP, MPLS, Multicast, VPN, Multicast VPN, OSPF, PNNI, BGP, LDP, TE/FRR, router technology in general, Layer 2 switch technology, EMS, SNMP. Familiarity with Juniper routers and high-end Cisco routers such as Cisco CRS-1 or GSR, Cisco Ethernet switches, Cisco CRS1, and / or Avici routers. Requires ability to perform detailed and exhaustive root cause analysis on complex technology problems under stressful conditions. Ability to participate in lab testing, both to discover root cause for field issues and as part of new certification efforts. High level technology skills in general are required as is the ability to perform extensive data analysis for problems with multiple variables and dimensions. Excellent ability to convey difficult technology problems and game plans to multiple audiences, including executive level and technical expert level. Frequent interactions and presentations to customers is required. The ability to work autonomously as well as lead small teams is highly desired. Very good interpersonal skills, including skillful interaction under difficult situations.
Required Degrees/Majors/Accreditations/Skills:
BS in Comp. Science, Engineering or Math w/minimum 4 years experience in Networking. Extensive knowledge of Ethernet, VPLS, FR, ATM, IP, MPLS, MPLS FRR, Multicast, VPN, Multicast VPN, PNNI, BGP, LDP router technology, Layer 2 switch technology, EMS, SNMP. Perform detailed & exhaustive root cause analysis on complex technology problems & participate in lab testing to discover root cause for field issues & for new certification efforts. High level of technology skills required
Desired Degrees/Majors/Accreditations/Skills:
Familiarity with ATM switches, Cisco RPM, Cisco GSR, Ethernet switches, Juniper routers, Cisco CRS1, Avici routers. The ability to work autonomously as well as lead small teams is highly desired. Very good interpersonal skills, including skillful interaction under difficult situations.
