Senior Mining Engineer
RCS is currently seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for an overseas assignment working for a large international mining company. The position will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Job Description:
- They will receive a resource from exploration; create the modifying factors such as price, cost, blending constraints, and technical parameters; construct an optimized reserve and mine design and then schedule the production, construct the valuation model and liaise with other technical/legal/environmental departments.
- They will scope and manage conceptual/pre feasibility studies on these deposits, engage and manage any necessary departments or sub consultants.
- Assist business development in developing clients and markets for the materials.
Background:
- The candidate will ideally be a degreed mining engineer with further qualifications such as MBA or in mineral economics. (15+ years exp)
- They will have had experience in production/operations, mine planning, and project environments.
- Ideally have experience in the mining analyst field for a financial institution with perhaps merger and acquisition exposure.
- They will be experienced in the valuation of mining projects and in particular have experience in a variety of industrial minerals with extensive knowledge of the important customer relations aspects of the quality/product specification requirement of industrial minerals.
Requirements:
- BS in Mining Engineering or similar degree, MBA a plus
- 15+ years of experience in mining engineering roles
- Experience in mine production and operations, planning, and project management environments.
- Must have extensive experience in industrial minerals - limestone, clays, sand, gravel, diatomite, kaolin, bentonite, silica, barite, gypsum, and talc.
- Some experience with mine analyses for a financial institution, with possibly merger and acquisition experience
- Mine project valuation experience with industrial minerals
- Broad experience (including international) in mine exploration and development
- Geologic evaluations of deposits (ideally ferrous)
- Management of drilling contracts
- Supervision of exploration personnel (drilling crew, geologists, and support)
- GIS Mapping and database management experience is required
- Prior field exploration experience is essential
- Must be capable of compiling and interpreting historical data and designing both grass-roots and advanced stage exploration
- Strong technical skills including a broad knowledge of industry production standards as well as a strong commitment to safety, environmental protection/compliance and social responsibility. Must be sensitive to indigenous and cultural issues.
