General Definition:
* Acts as top tier escalation point for network related issues
working alongside another Sr. Network Engineer
* Assists other team members with configuration and management of
network devices.
* Assists in developing network and network security solutions for
the client.
* Makes purchasing recommendations on network infrastructure and
network security infrastructure.
* Participates in team meetings, team design discussions, and client
meetings to meet network design goals.
* Install all new hardware, systems, and software.
* Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment and
devices.
* Supports administration of CiscoWorks, SolarWinds Orion NPM/APM
* Designs network infrastructure.
* Mentors team other team members and assists in technical training
for the team.
* Perform detailed troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations
and associated systems.
* Documents network problems and resolution.
* Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
* Requires a thorough knowledge of network design, network security,
as well as IP routing and switching.
* Assist SOC with remediation of network security related issues.
* Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience
required.
* Ability to lead deployment teams.
Certifications: CCNP Required (or CCIP or similar Cisco Professional
level certification)
Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology, or four (4) or more years of relevant experience.
Networking Experience:
* Expert IP addressing and subnetting skills.
* Expert level network troubleshooting skills required (including
network services such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc.)
* Expert level knowledge with Cisco Switches & switching methodology
* Expert level knowledge with Cisco Routers & routing methodology
* Expert Firewall Experience (Cisco ASA and PIX)
* Intermediate to expert experience with LAN/WAN Quality of Service
and Packetshaping.
* Intermediate to expert experience with Cisco Network Admission
Control (NAC)
* Expert LAN technologies (Working knowledge of: EIGRP, VLANs,
private VLANs, trunking, port security, routing fundamentals, switching
fundamentals, quality of service)
* Intermediate to expert level knowledge of WAN technologies
(Familiarity with: DMVPN, VoIP over WANs, GRE tunnels, Quality of
Service, NHRP, BGP, etc.)
