Senior Network Engineer, VoIP Specialist

About the Job

A large publicly traded company, headquartered in the northeast, is seeking to hire a Senior Network Engineer, VoIP Specialist to join their Information Systems team, located in Central VT.


 


Key responsibilities include:
• Providing second/third level technical support for Voice and/IP Telephony technologies to locations.
• Ability to work during regularly scheduled and unscheduled evening and weekend hours to support ongoing implementation activities and remediation projects.
• Application of analytical skills and technical knowledge to solve product and network problems of moderate to high complexity.
• Provide technology/product training and intellectual property material as required.
• Act as focal point for VoIP and network problem resolution. 
• Interact across teams and managed services teams at peer level.
• Project management for enterprise class voice designs.


Technical skills essential for this position include:
• 5+ years of VoIP network operations and deployment experience
• 5+ years working knowledge of Networking industry, products and protocols (LAN/WAN)
• 5+ years Administrator level knowledge of Microsoft Windows
• 2+ years of IP Networking experience


Additional requirements for this position include:
• Extensive experience with Cisco IPT related products, including Unified Communications, Unity, Contact Center and Voice Gateways
• Administrator level knowledge of Microsoft Windows
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Working with cross-functional team
• Ability to determine problems and deliver solutions
• Superior presentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with and provide guidance to other members of the work group.
• Previous Customer Support experience. Active Directory, Domino Desired.
• Familiar with Quality of Service (QOS) models and best practices.


Required Skills for VoIP position include Cisco Unified Communications, VOIP, Unity Voice Mail, and Contact Center. CCNA or equivilent required.
