Your duty, should you decide to accept it: Senior Network/Security Engineer and Administrator

 

Your
mission:

 

As the senior-level Network and Security Engineer you will
responsible for providing effective and efficient day-to-day network
support to users. Work closely with the IT Director and other IT staff
members to identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex and
difficult network, security and hardware related issues of a Linux and
Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 Clustering Advanced Server LAN/WAN high
availability environment. Work independently under the broad oversight
and direction of the IT Director. Be on-call during weekends and/or
after regular business hours and on occasion, you may be required
outside normal business hours as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor network security, stability and performance - ensuring 24x7 operations and resolving service impacts as they occur
  • Discover and investigate suspect behavior, including application performance and availability analysis
  • Automate builds, tuning, and maintenance of Linux and Windows Servers
  • Oversee and execute planned network maintenance work, minimizing impact to 24x7 services
  • Lead the upgrade of Linux and Windows based hardware Operating Systems, Web Servers, and Database platforms
  • Plan and lead design and development of new Linux and Windows-based Web Servers
  • Build out infrastructure to include a broader level of applications and
    services requiring attention to detail, capacity to plan, ability to
    execute, and a commitment to excellence
  • Plan, architect, implement, and support infrastructure for an ever-expanding business
  • Lead configuration and tuning of Network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers,
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Assist with determining ongoing PCI compliance requirements and develop
    plans for remediation for both wired and wireless network infrastructure
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation


Requirements:
  • Strong academic background with a B.S., B.A., with an M.S. or higher education being  preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5-10+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Security and Systems Administration
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches
  • Strong Linux Operating System and Linux Administration and Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN/DMZ connections and segregations
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols including VRRP, BGP, iBGP, HSRP, RSTP, RIP, SIP and Multicast
  •  High level of experience implementing and administrating common
    TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide array of system, networking and hardware problems
  • CCNP, CCNA, CCIE and/or CISSP-ISSEP Certifications are a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task
  • Equally self-sufficient and able to work well in a team
  • Service-minded, able to help with whatever is needed
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move all components of PC workstations, servers,
  • network equipments, peripherals, and other ancillary equipment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
