Senior Network/Systems Engineer



Description:
VOLT has partnered with a top Cisco Reseller and Service company in Fargo to fill a Senior Network or Systems Engineer for their company. To highlight the below duties, responsibilities, and requirements, we are seeking an engineer that is passionate about growing with a company, being trained in additional technologies (including further Cisco and others like WebSense), and working in a consulting environment. Cisco, IBM Blade, and MS technologies are used daily with the variety of clients they serve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Install all hardware and software on the dates specified in the network contract and purchase agreement

  • Provide ongoing consultation, research and recommendations to enhance existing networks

  • Provide technical support for customers as required for networks

  • Assist Account Executives in gathering information from customer to provide a network solution that meets the customers' needs and expectations

  • Attend all vendor required and network specific training classes as assigned, as well as, assist in presentations of network and vertical market seminars

    Requirements:
    Minimum 5-7 years experience in Systems or Network Engineering required for this position. Other requirements include:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in computer-related field

  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches is desired

  • Ability to communicate effectively to customers as needed while on-site doing installations, troubleshooting, and repair

  • MCSE or similar certification preferred (ability to obtain MCSE, CCNA necessary)

  • excellent customer service skills

  • ability to be successful in a variety of environments
