













RTI's Food and Agricultural Policy Program seeks an experienced nutrition policy analyst with a graduate degree related to nutrition, public health, public policy, or similar disciplines and relevant experience in academia, government, industry, or consulting. Candidates must have the ability to correctly conceptualize policy problems, design and implement appropriate research methods, apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative techniques, and effectively communicate both orally and in writing with clients and staff including non-technical audiences. Senior staff lead ongoing and new projects and contribute to grant and contract proposals to government agencies and other funding sources. Senior candidates should have interest in developing a research agenda, obtaining contract and grant funding, and contributing to the profession through publications and presentations. RTI provides extensive support to assist in all aspects of the research process.
Qualifications
PhD with 5 or more years of relevant experience, although well-qualified candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered. Relevant areas of experience include analysis of dietary recall data such as the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES); analysis of various aspects of nutrition assistance programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants, and Children, (WIC), and the National School Lunch Program; development, administration, and analysis of consumer surveys related to food choices; design and evaluation of intervention studies related to nutrition policy and nutrition education; and other areas related nutrition and obesity. An emphasis on public policy research with strong analytical and statistical analysis skills is required. Registered dietitians with relevant experience would be desirable.***
