We are looking for a Senior Operations Analyst, to join our Sampling team in Columbia, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Works as an integral member of an Operations planning department in a fast paced production environment. Working hours can vary based on rigid production needs.
- Responsible for a set of recurring operational tasks and accountable for meeting stringent methodological requirements and the highest customer expectations.
- Interfaces with R&D and the rest of Operations to implement new designs into production.
- Maintains and updates documented departmental procedures comprehensively and on a timely basis.
- Conducts tactical or strategic analyses to address business and customer issues.
- These analyses must be logical, clear, and succinct.
- Uses and modifies predictive models to forecast behavioral rates based on trends, external variables, and methodological changes.
- Detects, troubleshoots, and resolves data or system anomalies.
- Creates and executes prevention/detection controls to ensure data integrity of processes owned.
- Queries data from large relational databases for various analyses and/or requests, using Access, TOAD/SQL, or Business Objects.
- Designs tools (spreadsheets, macros, SQL statements, etc.) to better plan, predict and monitor sample performance at the market level.
- Helps write new software requirements and tests, as an end-user, software changes and new code.
- Serves on various interdepartmental teams seeking to implement new initiatives, raise sample rates, and work on other critical initiatives.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, social science, mathematics, statistics, business, or related fields. Graduate degree preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in at least one of the following fields: statistics, engineering, research, business analytics, or economics, preferably in operations.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated expertise using Excel as well as Access, Oracle or other relational database software.
- Outstanding organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills, with great attention to detail. Must be able to manage many unrelated tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership skills and proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to create a sense of urgency and motivate peers and management to solve business issues.
