Position Description:

This position reports to Director of Enterprise Systems and will be an integral member of a team responsible for ongoing system maintenance, support, and evolution of “back office” PeopleSoft environments and other Oracle based applications hosted at Network Operating Center.
The Oracle DBA Applications Administrator participates in team activities for all database management and applications administration functions for multiple Oracle databases supporting PeopleSoft, and other applications. Thisincludes but is not limited to the design, installation, monitoring,maintenance, and performance tuning of production and non-production databases and while ensuring high levels of data and application availability. This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the operation, integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying application software. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to plan and incorporate strategic factors while simultaneously performing key daily activities. He/she must architect the databases, manage multiple environments, associated applications and maintain secure, reliable, robust access to them.
Day-to-day activities will be to:
Performance monitor, troubleshoot, and schedule / takingbackups.
Develop and maintain solid, industry-standard database management practices for all databases.
Manage and/or perform routine maintenance of the Oracle databases and hosted applications
Administer multiple Application environments including PeopleSoft, OWAM and OPS
Provide secure database environments for production purposes that meet company policies and SOX compliance.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements,upgrades, patches and/or reconfigurations
Support application development team throughout project lifecycles
Install, migrate, and configure multiple production and non-production environments needed to support full application development life cycle by defining logical views, data normalization, data conversion, and archivingrequirements.
Develop and maintain standards for documentation, database security, and audit compliance.
Participate in the migrations, patches and fixes of the Oracle based applications and tools. Application experience in patching and upgrades
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in the field of business administration, computer science,accounting, management information systems or 10 years experience as an OracleDBA with support experience to Oracle applications, and/orPeopleSoft
2+ plus years of experience in oracle database administration experience in either an 9i or 10g environment
Preferred:
Oracle certification
Familiarity and experience with Linux operating systems andHP-EVA Storage Area Network (SAN)technology
Familiarity with 3rd party tools or applications (TOAD,PUTTY, FOGLIGHT, Quest Foglight, Tuxedo, Crystal, SQR etc.)
Experience using PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA); version 8.x;PeopleSoft utilities (PeopleCode, PeopleTools, etc.)
Work Environment:
40-hour on-site work week with on-call availability
Limited travel required.
