Who are we looking for?

An experienced Senior Oracle DBA for our Dallas based Corporate Headquarters who will perform installations, architectural analysis, oversee implementation of Oracle databases, do performance tuning of databases including designing, creating, modifying scripts and/or Oracle procedures/packages for related back office applications. Other duties include:

  • Leading the upgrading from current state (9i) to future state (11g) and the architecture / design of the Oracle DB engine.
  • Analyzing and explaining plans to ensure the highest efficiency is being met before being put into production and continue monitoring post-install.
  • Documenting by creating and maintaining database standards, procedures to develop a consistent, cost effective set of services for the IT department
  • Collaborating with the App/Dev department to ensure applications, queries and DB engine are optimal and develop archive procedures
  • Providing database support to development & QA as well as create documentation to triage incidents and escalation to support teams within the organization
  • Collaborating with Service Delivery DBA (Operations team) to ensure alignment of DB planned changes for optimal support.
  • Providing on-call support for the production operations team and participate in software deployments



Still Interested? You will need to have at least eight (8) years of Oracle Database Administration experience on UNIX platforms with the proven ability to create, execute and troubleshoot Unix scripts as well as demonstrate DBA level experience with shell scripting, UNIX and Linux administration. A Bachelors Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related discipline is preferred. Proven experience in Oracle 9i, 10g installation, upgrades as well as heavy customer interface and communication skills are a must. Recent experience in installation, configuration and support, upgrade of Oracle 9i to 11g is preferred. Other required skills include an excellent knowledge of network applications such as FTP, Telnet, SSH, SFTP, thorough knowledge of the Oracle framework and architecture, Oracle patch management and patch migration processes and experience in with OEM, TOAD, PL/SQL Developer, Oracle grid-control. Oracle certification(s) preferred
